Imagine yourself at the hospital. Blood rushing out of your wrist, passed out, losing blood every passing moment. Imagine yourself having to get your stomach pumped because of all the pills you swallowed. Doctors rushing to stop you from your death. Your parents rushing along with them, bawling their eyes out. Your siblings standing at your bed with tears in their eyes saying “please wake up.” But you can’t reply. Your little sibling asking “why did they do this?” because they don’t understand. The doctors putting these strange machines on you to keep you alive. Your body in shock from all the pain that you can’t feel a thing. The doctors find all the scars on your arms, thighs, stomach, shoulders. Them telling your parents that you attempted suicide and your parents break down.
You can’t see, hear or feel a thing. Then, you stop breathing. The doctors tell your family the devastating news. When they go home, they go in your room and find a suicide note on your bed. Nobody is allowed in your room anymore. Nobody can pass by your room without crying. Your family isn’t able to live a normal life. Your siblings refuse to go anywhere. Your family being broken forever.
BUT also imagine you’re at the hospital and you open your eyes. There’s a gauge around your wrist, You’re tied up to a bunch of wires connected to beeping machines. Someone says “You’re doing good” then walks out of the room. When you look up, you see your family walking in. More people come in behind them. You look around. Your parents, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, family-friends, and friends all gathered around you. Every single person in that room starts to smile because you have finally woken up. Everyone is hugging you and smiling and crying tears of joy because they are so happy to have you back. Your siblings have the brightest smile on their face. As you look around this room, you realize that these people are here because they care about you. They love you.
I want you to always remember this: YOU ARE LOVED. PEOPLE DO CARE ABOUT YOU.
Whether it’s only one person, or a lot. If it’s a person over the internet, or someone you just met. If you are religious, remember that God will always love you. You are loved and people care about you. I care about you. Don’t ever give up on yourself because you are hella rad
